Our 2nd Quarter donation went to Yorkshire Elementary PTO in support of their “Every Student…Every Supply” initiative, geared toward providing school supplies and backpacks for the 2018-19 student body. And….they did it! Our $5,100 donation helped them provide every school supply for every student! Yorkshire ES, a PWCS school, has a population of 857 students, with 711 on free/reduced lunch. It also has one of the highest ESOL populations in the county. The check presentation was held at an 80’s throwback concert to benefit the school and their efforts to achieve their goal of every student-every supply.
Our chapter has donated over $50,000 to causes in our community! Please consider joining us at our final meeting of 2018 on Thursday, November 8th. Bring a friend!!
Our chapter had another wonderful meeting tonight, and selected our 10th donation recipient! This quarter’s funds will go to Yorkshire Elementary PTO, in support of their “Every Student…Every Supply” initiative, geared toward providing school supplies and backpacks for the 2018-19 student body. Yorkshire ES, a PWCS school, has a population of 857 students, with 711 on free/reduced lunch. It also has one of the highest ESOL populations in the county. Many families simply cannot afford backpacks and supplies. This is a population in need, and we will help to meet that need! Please consider joining forces with us and supporting this amazing cause! Email us at email@example.com, or find us on Facebook!
All the first quarter 2018 checks are in, and we will donate $6100 to Giving on Another Level, a Manassas nonprofit which primarily serves those living in PWC tent communities. Our funds will support G.O.A.L.’s Day of Dignity for local unsheltered women, planned for June. Our chapter has met for a total of 9 meetings – each one hour or less – over the past two years. By simply joining forces with other giving women, we have raised $46,800 for local charities!
Happy New Year from the Gainesville Area 100 Women Who Care! We finished 2017 with a $6,300 donation to the Georgetown South Community Center, and helped bring Christmas to some of the 300 underprivileged children who live in this rebounding Manassas townhome community. While most of our monetary donation was dedicated toward providing warm winter clothing to the children, many members of our chapter went the extra mile and “adopted” children, providing toys and other gifts for their parents to put under the Christmas tree. Community Center director and former PWC police officer Meg Carroll was so excited about our donation that she thinks she may join our chapter! In our two years of existence, and in 8 half-hour meetings, our chapter has donated $40,700 to amazing causes in our local community. Please consider joining us – our next meeting is Thursday, February 8!
